Chop, Wash & Bag

Every morning the supermarkets send their orders to us at Natures Way Foods. We then tell our sites how much lettuce they need to make the products the supermarkets have ordered.

All the lettuce must be:

  1. Washed, to remove mud and dirt and bugs
  2. Chopped, by hand or machine, to the correct size
  3. Weighed, so that the right amount of lettuce goes into the final product
  4. Packaged, in bags or bowls so that they can be put onto crates or in cardboard boxes, ready for the supermarket lorries to pick them up.

Finally, the bags of salad are placed into crates or cardboard boxes and stacked onto pallets in the warehouse ready for the supermarket lorries to come and pick them up.
