We’re passionate about healthy eating and doing what we can to make a difference. Helping children understand where their food comes from and the importance of healthy eating is a vital part of this approach.
We launched our Field to Fork tours in June 2008. Since that time, over 700 local school children have visited our sites to learn about the journey their food makes.
Children spend half a day with one of our growers discovering how lettuce crops are planted, grown and harvested and how the salad travels from the field to their fork. The tour culminates in a session in our innovation kitchen, where children learn about healthy eating, have an opportunity to sample a huge selection of ingredients and make up their own bag of salad to take home.
